3rd: Recharge Your Battery!
Our third chakra is basically the powerhouse of our body and energy system. It not only stores energy (sometimes as unwanted fat) but creates energy through digestion. This is where our “nuclear reactor” is located; our stomach and digestive track!
Our digestion turns fats, proteins, and carbs into energy! Then it uses minerals and metals to conduct electricity throughout our body, and sends the other nutrients, with the help of our heart and blood, to where our body needs to repair or rebuild DNA and cells. This is why it is super important to eat nutrient dense foods, because we need the energy and the essential elements of life to maintain our physical body (our first chakra).
You can help your third chakra keep its battery charged by eating good, clean, and healthy foods: berries, seeds, nuts, roots, vegetables, leafy greens, and clean meats. And eating these foods are a great way of connecting to the earth! Did you notice that fast-food and candy bars are not on that list? Although those foods are high in calories that result in lots of energy, it can do more damage to your system than it heals. Additives in these foods could make little cuts in your intestines creating myriad of gut issues including Leaky Gut and Autoimmune disorders. Then adding sugar on top of it creates inflammation in the body preventing these issues from healing.
The third chakra loves nutrient dense foods to recharge its energy system! Other things that our third chakra likes is hot water, tea, and lemon water. These fluids aid in the digestion and transportation of these foods, and helps release the unwanted parts.
Exercise is a great way of keeping your internal battery healthy. Just like those lithium batteries that have a memory if you recharge it before its been depleted, our third chakra acts in a similar way. When you use your entire short-term energy store your body will remember the low point and start building new energy receptors and transmitters to support it. It will also learn how much energy you use before you become depleted and will work to increasing your battery capacity. That is why 10-20 minutes of cardio every day goes a long way; it keeps your battery at optimum health.
I am a strong advocate of community, especially in relation to our third chakra! If you stay healthy and balanced by eating, hydrating, and exercising, why not do these with other people? Host a BBQ or hike with friends! Set up playdates for the kids and the adults! Schedule regular activities with friends or neighbors. Sharing these experiences with others will help you be accountable for your health, and you will help support the health of the people you care about the most.
One tip, as you schedule these events, set your intentions before you meet up. You can say to your friend clearly, “Please bring fresh foods or a homemade dish to my BBQ” or “my goal is to make it three miles tomorrow!” Then your friends will be more able to support you with your goals, and, in return, you can ask them what their goals are to help support them! Recharge each others’ batteries!
I would be happy to help to repaid your battery pack if it is leaky or if you need to upgrade your energy capacity! Community is important to me and it brings me joy to help others come into their power!
